This week we will begin working with informational texts and citing textual evidence (RI1). We will begin reading an article about the Scottsboro Boys and then later in the week we will read about Emmett Till. Ask your child what they learned about the two cases and how these case are still relevant with things that are happening today.
On Wednesday, students will take the STAR assessment for the first time this year.
Don't forget to remind your child to study their vocabulary words each day so they are ready for the quiz on Friday. If your child comes home and says that they don't have homework, they should read for at least 30 minutes per night.
